Church in Study
Adult morning worship for Cleburne 1st Seventh-day Adventist Church begins at 9:15 with a fifteen minute song fest. At 9:30, beginning with prayer, there is a ten-to-twenty minute introductory Sabbath School program, often themed with the week's Lesson from the "Quarterly." After the program, prayer is made to request God's Holy Spirit to open our minds to His truth. Blble study time commences immediately after folks have separated to their respetive lesson study classes of choice. Adult Sabbath School class teachers are Jim and Bette Hambright, teaching Hambright's Class (Hambright's), sanctuary front left; Carl Westcot, Philip Westerman, Dennis Zook and Bill Neighbors, teaching Bill Neighbor's Class (Neighbor's), sanctuary right front; Dr. Coomansingh, teaching the Embers Class, sanctuary right rear; Charles Osborne, and others teaching the Chapel Class in the chapel; Bernard Chisholm and Tom Bell teaching the Balcony Class; and Cecil Chastain teaching FLC Class downstairs in the FLC. That's six adult Sabbath School classes. Bible Study time continues until 10:40.
Children have their own Bible study rooms, with study programs from 9:30 to 10:40. Children's classes are divided according to age groups—birth to three-year-olds go to Cradleroll (with parent/guardian accompaniment, please!); four to six attend the Kindergarten Class; six (beginning readers) to nine go to the Primary Class. These age groups' rooms are in the "south wing" of the church building. Meeting in the Family Life Center are the Junior (9/10-12/13), Earliteen (13-15), Youth (16-17 /18) and Young Adult Sabbath School Classes.

Church in Mission
At Cleburne First this means different things depending on which Sabbath of the month it is. It may mean listening to a mini-concert by a member or guest who may be featured in a full concert later in the evening; or a monthly Mission report featuring church membership mission individuals or groups; or evangelism reports; or . . . something else Cleburne "Church in Mission" related.

Church in Worship
Usually our senior pastor, Dr. Tony Torres, is our speaker. During his vacation, we may have guest speakers, but the usual is for our associate pastor, Peter Durichek, or one of our elders to have the worship hour. At present we have, and a number of times in the past we have had, a student pastor who will present a message. When we have a returning mission team, there will be a Sabbath dedicated to their presenting, with a slide show, highlights of their trip.

The picture above is a representation of the parable Jesus told of the "Pearl of great price," which is, of course, Himself. (Matthew 13:45,46).Pearls come in many colors, not just "white" or "black." This color of pearl, coming from the "Lion's Paw" scallop, reminds us of the blood shed by Jesus, "the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Rev 13:8), shed to redeem us. And of what does the "Lion's Paw" scallop shell remind us, but that Jesus is "The Lion of the tribe of Judah?" (Genesis 49:8-12).
